Welcome to my site
I am the Director of the Open Learning & Teaching Collaborative (CoLab) at Plymouth State University. In this position, I oversee faculty development for PSU, including ongoing programming and one-on-one support for instructional design. Since 2021, I have spearheaded the development of Design Forward, a community-based faculty development curriculum for the intentional design of teaching and learning.
Prior to coming to PSU, I was the founding director of the Digital Knowledge Center, a peer tutoring organization for students working on digital projects and assignments, at the University of Mary Washington. Previously at UMW, I worked in the Division of Teaching and Learning Technologies in various roles, helping administer faculty and student development projects, including Domain of One’s Own.
I have taught classes in computer science, American studies, and digital studies at UMW and in interdisciplinary studies at PSU. In 2011, I helped originate the open digital storytelling community, DS106. I hold a BA in English from Mary Washington College and an MA in instructional technology and media from Teachers College, Columbia University.
